Girl Scouts in Troop 10424 in Laconia participated in early World Thinking Day activities on Feb. 10. They took part in an activity where they were given different size “stones” to reach the same goal – to cross a “river.” It was followed by a discussion on how equity affects their everyday lives.
They decided that the opportunities or tools they were provided don’t always have to be equal to obtain the same result, but it may make it more difficult for those who are given less.
World Thinking Day is an annual event for Girl Scouts and Girl Guides across the world, and this year’s theme is “Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity.” It is marked by Girl Scouts officially this year on Feb. 22.
