While working as a nurse in Vietnam, I learned an invaluable lesson: One cannot live (function positively) in fear. Ask, too, anyone who has been physically and/or emotinally abused. These days, I identify with the staff caring for persons with COVID and,

too, with their family members.

I am so heartened by their courage and only wish I could do more. My prayers and respect are with the leaders such as Gov. Cuomo, PBS Newshour staff and others who are guiding us through these hellish days. Their sincere caring for others comes through loud and clear.

And to you wonderful Concord Monitor staff: My heartfelt thanks

for helping me (us) maintain some degree of normalcy in our lives. More than ever, I look forward to the newspaper each day. Thank you.
