EAST SIDEEaster online

■I hope everyone enjoys Easter the best way they can. It will be tough with no public Easter egg hunts this year. I also want to wish my readers a Happy Passover, especially Joshua Harwood and Mark Pepler.

■Many churches are having Easter Sunday services online. Check the websites for East Congregational Church, Granite State Baptist Church, Immanuel Community Church, Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Grace Episcopal Church, and Concordia Lutheran Church for details. Most services are being held at either 9:30 or 10 a.m.

■Rev. Michael Lowry of East Congregational Church is streaming mid-week greetings and reflections in addition to each Sunday’s 10 a.m. service. Go to eastchurchucc.org and scroll down to read about online worship. Click on the East Congregational Facebook Videos link. Next Sunday, April 19, will be the celebration of Orthodox Easter at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.

■The Kiwanis Club, Concord Lions Club, Concord Knights of Columbus No. 110, and Concord Grange 322 are not meeting.

■Happy birthday wishes are extended to Joe Hatch and to Wade Flanders, who will be 9 years old this week.

WEST SIDELeaf collection

■The City of Concord’s Spring Leaf Collection is tentatively planned to begin April 20 and run through May 20. Concord residents who currently participate in the curbside trash collection program are eligible for the Spring Leaf Collection program. Materials are collected weekly and must be curbside by 7 a.m. on the same day your regular trash is collected. Residents have two options for pick-up: 1) yard waste is placed curbside in paper yard waste bags which are available at local stores or 2) yard waste is placed curbside in 30-gallon barrels weighing less than 50 pounds clearly marked as “yard waste”. No plastic bags containing yard waste will be collected. For more information, visit concordnh.gov/leafcollection.

■Five suggestions of fun things you can do while staying at home: Train your dog or teach it a new trick; take your dog for daily walks; Learn to cook or try making something new; Continue shopping local by buying gift cards online or getting take-out for an at-home picnic; Play cards, checkers, or my favorite, Yahtzee;Catch up on all the movies you have missed or bring out those home movies.

■Send in your annual dog license renewals prior to the April 30 due date. For more information, contact the City Clerk’s office at 225-8500 or visit concordnh.gov.

■Happy 18th birthday to my favorite twins, Ashley and Sydney Plante!
