The Meredith/Inter-Lakes Alumni Association has canceled the June 7 Alumni banquet due to the coronavirus situation. However, we are not going to let COVID-19 interfere with the alumni scholarships, a tradition for the past 54 years (with the exception of war-time in 1944), or the Alumni Loyalty Cup, a tradition for the past 91 years!
In 2020, we are on track to award scholarships to three Inter-Lakes High School seniors. Also, we will sponsor and present the Alumni Loyalty Cup to a member of the 2020 senior class who has been a member of ILHS for at least two full years, academically ranks in the upper half of the class and whose record of loyalty to the school organization, wholesome character and initiative meets the ideals of ILHS. The recipient is nominated and voted on by the members of the Inter-Lakes High School faculty and is a great honor with recipients held in high esteem.
The time and place when awards will be presented has yet to be determined.
The Class of 1970 has been most understanding as they are in the middle of planning their 50-year reunion and would have been our guests of honor. The current consensus of the committee is to plan their 50th reunion for later this fall (no details yet). The board has agreed the 2021 banquet will indeed be a special celebration! The Class of 1970 has accepted our invitation to join the Class of 1971 as guests of honor during our annual alumni banquet now scheduled for Sunday, June 6, 2021, at Church Landing. Please save the date!
Thank you all for your generous in memory of donations and business ad sponsorships. All will be reflected in the 2021 program booklet along with any others that we receive between now and next June.
