■The library is closed to the public and no physical media is being circulated, but the library is online services and resources available. Visit salisburyfreelibrary.wordpress.com for a full list of resources and updated information. If you have books or other items currently out, please keep them at home until the library reopens. All due date notices have been turned off and the book drop is sealed. The library staff is available for online reference, library card sign ups, and assistance with downloadable books. The building is still partially staffed and will answer calls made to 648-2278 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. However, only one staff member who is allowed in the building so those hours are subject to change. The staff is also available via email at salisburyfree@gmail.com. Downloadable ebooks and audio books are available at nh.overdrive.com or through the Libby app. Contact the library if you do not have a library card and the staff will assist you. Hoopla Digital is also now available for patrons to check out up to five items per month. Sign up with your 14 digit library card number. Borrow digital books, audio books, music, movies, and TV shows at hoopladigital.com. Another resource is Tumble Books, a world leader in online children’s book databases, and it is making its family of online libraries available for free to all schools and libraries until at least Aug. 31. There is a direct link to access it through the Salisbury Free Library website on the Online Children’s Resources page. Follow the library on Facebook to get the latest updates. Free Wi-Fi is also available from the parking lot.
■There is a food pantry bin located outside the Salisbury Free Library for those in need. Give what you can and take what you need. Non-perishable foods (preferably canned goods that bears can’t smell) are needed. Neighbors helping neighbors is the Salisbury way. We will get through this together Salisbury!
■Bread & Roses Soup Kitchen in Franklin has suspended dinners until further notice but they are open every Monday and Thursday night from 4 to 5 p.m. Brown bags with breads and desserts are given every Monday and Thursday. Meat is given on Mondays and produce and dairy are given on Thursdays. No questions are asked and is first come first served. People can come up the handicapped ramp on the side and only two people are allowed in at a time to get their food. Staff wear gloves! If there are two people already inside the building, the handicapped ramp is covered and a very private area where people can wait and keep social distancing in mind. Bread and Roses Soup kitchen is located at 206 Central Street in Franklin. If you would like to help out with this cause or donate in any way please call the soup kitchen at 934-2346.
■The Town Wide Yard sale sponsored by the Friends of the Library has been postponed until further notice.
■The Town Offices, which includes the town clerk (see separate notice on town’s website) and the tax collector will be closed to the public until further notice and are only accessible through phone calls and emails. Selectmen meetings will be posted on an as needed basis. The selectmen have decided to suspend all of the events, functions and scheduled meetings that were to be held at the Town Hall until further notice. All essential personnel (Fire/EMS) will be conducting business as usual. We are also asking people to check in on their neighbors and elderly. ■For business regarding the Building Inspector please email Chuck Bodien at cbodien@tds.net. Building permits and other documentation can be dropped off at the Academy Hall or mailed in to PO Box 214. If you are submitting completed projects, please email photos.
■All dogs must be licensed by Thursday. Failure to license your dog is a violation under the state law and carries a $25 fine. Fee for an unneutered dog is $9 and costs $6.50 for neutered dogs. For senior citizens (age 65 and over) the fee is $2.50. To license your dog through the mail, please send a copy of the rabies vaccination paperwork with a pre-addressed and pre-stamped envelope to: The Office of the Town Clerk, P.O. Box 2, Salisbury, NH 03268. Please call 648-6322 with any questions or email tclerksalisbury@gmail.com. Email is the preferred method of communication at this time.
■DMV registrations and vital record transactions can also be done through the Town Clerk’s office by mail. Call 648-6322 or fax a request to 648-6658. You will need to specify if you are transferring plates, requesting normal passenger plates or any of the special plates. Vanity plate applications can be found online at nh.gov/safety/divisions/dmv/forms/documents/rdmv120.pdf. Please email the Town Clerk at tclerksalisbury@gmail.com with complete vehicle information.
■If you are looking to obtain a burn permit that is seasonal you may fill one out on the N.H. Division of Forest & Land’s website. Class 3 burn permits will need to be inspected by a fire warden, which are listed at salisburynh.org/forest-fire-wardens. Please make an appointment and remember to social distance!
■Crossroads Country Store has changed its hours to Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Sunday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
■The Transfer Station will be open at its regular days and times, Wednesdays, 2-6 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please remember to practice social distancing. The Swap Shop at the Transfer Station will be closed until further notice.
