For the young people of New Hampshire, the upcoming gubernatorial election is our chance to be heard. The candidate who values and will continue to value the voices of youth is Andru Volinsky. As a resident of the Executive Council district he represents, I am confident he will continue to fight for us as governor.

Andru has been proactive about the climate crisis as an advocate for environmental policy in New Hampshire. As the only candidate who opposes the Granite Bridge pipeline, it is clear that he recognizes the need to change our stateโ€™s direction around energy. While his primary opponent, Dan Feltes, and Gov. Chris Sununu have taken fossil fuel money from Liberty Utilities and Eversource, respectively, Andru has taken the โ€œno fossil-fuel moneyโ€ pledge. We need a climate champion like Andru who will fight for our future and that of our planet.

As the lead lawyer in the Claremont school funding cases, Andru fought for every childโ€™s right to quality public education in New Hampshire. Now more than ever, we need a governor who will value the voices of youth, which Andru has been doing his entire career.

Though I wonโ€™t be 18 for the Democratic primary on Sept. 8, I recognize how crucial this election is for all of us. To create crucial progressive change, we need to unite behind Andru Volinsky, the candidate who will continue to fight for us, the youth of New Hampshire, and our future.
