■Some businesses are opening, but with precautions. Be sure to check business websites and Facebook pages for updates. No matter what you do, please wear a mask. These businesses are putting themselves out for us so that is the least we can do.
■June 1 is the deadline for changing party affiliation prior to the Sept. 8 state primary. The Franklin City Clerk’s office will change your party affiliation by mail. Call 934-3109 to receive the request form.
■While cleaning out closets, attics, etc. during this stay-at-home period, please do not toss anything that might be of historical interest to the Franklin Historical Society such as photos, commemorative banners, posters, programs, period clothing, or letters as examples. Contact Leigh Webb at 934-8222 and he can guide you on what may be of value.
■Bread and Roses is unable to provide communal meals due to social distancing. However, on Mondays and Thursdays the kitchen will be handing out bags of donated items between 4-5 p.m. Use the door at the ramp, and only one person may enter at a time.
■If you feel the need to talk to someone during these stressful times, here is a link to a new confidential service called Family Support Warm Line: waypointnh.org/programs/the-family-support-warm-line. Share with as many people as you can. Stay safe and keep healthy.
■From City Hall: Please utilize the online system or the main entrance drop box for paying city property taxes, water bills, renewing car registrations (now through May) and dog licensing renewals. Contact the City Clerk’s Office at 934-3109 with questions. For vital records (birth, marriage, or death certificates), order online at sos.nh.gov/vital_records.aspx, vitalcheck.com or by calling 1-877-878-8007. ■The Twin Rivers Interfaith Food Pantry regular hours are 9-11 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays and 5-7 p.m. on Wednesdays. The pantry is located at 2 Central St. Pre-packed boxes will be handed at the door. If possible, please donate hand sanitizer and disposable gloves. The pantry does not need plastic supermarket bags at this time. If you are able, please consider making a donation to Twin Rivers Interfaith Food Pantry, 2 Central Street, Franklin, NH 03235.
■Franklin VNA may be able to offer some of its clinics/bereavement services. Please call 934-3454 to check what services are available.
■Continue to put aside donations for the Thrift Clothes Closet in downtown Franklin as well for Karma Korner at the high school. Karma Korner has an ongoing need for supplies such as hygiene products (soaps, deodorants, toothbrushes and toothpaste, and feminine products). New packs of underwear are a must, as well as laundry detergent pods for Karma Korner’s in-house washer.
■Chubble’s is offering take-out meals most Mondays-Fridays. Vulgar Brewing Co. is doing take-out service and The Franklin Studio will open Monday. All restaurants are take-out only and masks must be worn. No indoor seating. Call in orders and pay by credit card over the phone.
