N.H.-based nonprofits are encouraged to learn more about N.H. Gives, an initiative coordinated by the N.H. Center for Nonprofits to raise as much money and awareness as possible for New Hampshire’s nonprofits.
“N.H. Gives takes on new meaning this year as nonprofits face the impact of the global pandemic,” said Kathleen Reardon, CEO of the N.H. Center for Nonprofits. “Organizations are rising to the needs of their communities, even while they’ve lost revenue from canceled fundraising events and programs. We hope that N.H. Gives – which is all online – can provide them a much-needed boost.”
N.H. Gives provides nonprofits from every corner of New Hampshire with a platform to draw attention to their missions and let potential donors know how they can help in their own communities. Any 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit serving New Hampshire communities can participate in the day. Eligible organizations must register on NHGives.org prior to June 1. Participating nonprofits receive training and marketing support.
Now in its fifth year, N.H. Gives has raised more than $1.4 million since it started, connecting thousands of donors with hundreds of nonprofits.
Donors will be encouraged to visit NHGives.org for 24 hours starting at 6 p.m. on June 9, to donate to their favorite nonprofit organization, to discover other organizations doing good work, and to show their support through social media. The Laconia Rotary Club announces that its drawing for a 2020 Harley Davidson motorcycle is postponed from June 21 because of the current pandemic. The drawing traditionally occurs on the last Sunday of Motorcycle Week. The date will coincide with the last Sunday of the 2020 Motorcycle Week, which is currently scheduled for Aug. 30. In the meantime, Rotarians will continue to sell charity raffle tickets ($20 each) and will display the Harley Davidson motorcycle whenever public gatherings are permitted.
