County prosecutors dismissed a felony theft charge against a Concord woman once accused of stealing thousands of dollars from a recovery center on South State Street.
Angelina Sands, 32, paid a total of $3,590 in restitution to the Chrysalis Recovery Center at 112 S. State St., according to court documents. As a result, prosecutors chose not to move forward with criminal prosecution.
The restitution was paid as part of her successful completion of the Merrimack County Diversion Program, a voluntary program which accepts participants after a referral and assessment. Individuals accepted into the program must complete specific requirements, such as community service hours, and upon completion may avoid criminal prosecution and conviction.
Prosecutors had alleged that Sands stole $3,590 from the recovery center between April 2017 and September 2017, when she was employed as a receptionist. After a lengthy investigation, she was arrested this past January. The case was resolved several weeks later.
