CanterburyMarket to open

■The Canterbury Farmers’ Market will be reopening on June 3 at its usual time of 4 to 6:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the Elkins Public Library. The market will be held each Wednesday (unless there are thunderstorms) until Sept. 30. This year there will be no themed activities, but there will be live music from local musicians. The first will be Kyle Masterson. The market will still allow you to walk through, but will have a curbside pickup option. Customers will be encouraged to use hand sanitizer before entering the market. The number of customers coming in at any one time will be monitored. Prepared food must be taken off site to eat. Customers are asked to send minimal family members and children must be kept with their guardian at all times. No pets are allowed. Volunteers will wear masks. Market tokens will still be sold and sanitized beforehand. See canterburyfarmersmarket.com for more details.

■Canterbury Country Store can pre-bag and deliver orders of groceries thanks to local volunteers. There is a minimum order of $20. The store continues to stock local meat and dairy products, all the basic household supplies, ice cream, candy, wine and beer. There are new plants from Canterbury Plantation. Please call ahead for home delivery, allowing 24 hours notice if possible. Call 783-9933 or visit the new website, canterburycountrystore.com.

■Petals in the Pines will be opening June 1 with a new Tale Trail for families, plus trail hikes and garden walks geared to adults. There will be bird baths on the farm stand porch, plus bouquets Friday-Sunday in early June. Please check the website for COVID-19 protocol and updates on programs. “Pick Your Own Flowers” will be offered in mid-July. Visit petalsinthepines.com for more details or call Donna at 783-0220.

■The Canterbury Shaker Village grounds are open and weekend outdoor tours will start on July 5 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Currently staff are working on updating shakers.org. Master Gardener Lorrie Lockwood is assisting with the Resiliency Vegetable Garden. Save the date for the annual auction, to be held outdoors as a picnic on Aug. 29.

■Volunteers may sign up to assist those in need due to COVID-19, social isolation or quarantine. Those in need of service can request some help by looking up Pay It Forward, Canterbury NH on Facebook or call Cate at Canterbury Hall at 783-9822.

■The Annual Plant Swap and the Canterbury Fair have been canceled.
