The Amtrak Downeaster will resume limited service on Monday after being shut for more than a month.

The commuter train, which makes three stops in the Seacoast region as part of its route between Boston and Brunswick, Maine, will operate one southbound line in the morning and one northbound train, leaving Boston at 5 p.m.

Before the pandemic, the Downeaster ran five daily trains in each direction.

Capacity will be limited to 50 percent and passengers must wear masks while boarding and moving around the train, although not while seated.

Of area cities, Concord has seen 116 cases and Franklin 65. Of area towns, Bow, Henniker and Pembroke are the only ones that have seen more than 10 cases, in each case fewer than 15.

100 days

The state has risen to every challenge in the 100 days since New Hampshire confirmed its first case of COVID-19, Gov. Chris Sununu said Wednesday.

More than 5,100 people have tested positive for the coronavirus that causes the disease since the first announcement March 2. Sununu highlighted some accomplishments since then, including the expansion of unemployment benefits, virus testing for all residents and the allocation of hundreds of millions of dollars in federal relief.

โ€œThe public health crisis we are facing has presented challenges of an unprecedented nature, but at each step along the way, our team has stepped up and gotten the job done,โ€ he said in a written statement.
