Many cities and towns have canceled their summer programs for school-age children due to COVID-19. With day camps canceled and pools closed, the options for many low-income children are limited this summer. The Community Action Program of Belknap-Merrimack Counties in partnership with The Friends of Forgotten Children are hoping to fill this void. We will be distributing arts and craft kits to children in both Belknap and Merrimack Counties in the coming weeks.

The arts and craft kits will be distributed thru various programs, including The Friends of Forgotten Children, Summer Food Service Program, Headstart, WIC, various family shelters, and community action programs six area centers. Children in senior foster care and workforce development programs will also be participating.

We are seeking monetary donations and new arts and crafts supplies to assemble as many as 500 kits. Each kit will contain a number of arts and crafts supplies and activities for the children to complete over the summer.

Supplies may be left at Friends of Forgotten Children, 224 Bog Road, Concord, or Belknap-Merrimack Counties Community Action Program, 2 Industrial Park Drive, Building One Main Office, Concord.

You may reach Andy La Brie at BM-CAP at 225-3295 or Pam Smith at Friends of Forgotten Children at 753-4801.
