■The Allenstown Historical Society Yard Sale at 1 Verville Road is on Sunday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The raffle drawing will be at 3 p.m. 

■The Knights of Columbus Council is offering a pick-up and take-out meal Wednesday evening at the Parish Hall from 4:30 to 6 p.m. or until they run out of food. Free will offerings are accepted and appreciated.

■The Allenstown Library is offering curbside pickup by appointment only. Place holds on items by logging in to your account online or by calling the library. When your items are ready, you will receive an email or phone notification from the library. At that point you must either call the library at 485-7651 or email allenstownlib@comcast.net. Pickup times are between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday.

CHICHESTERLittle book houses open

■The Chichester Town Library is now open to the public with certain restrictions. Only five patrons are allowed in the building at a time, one person at a time at the computer station, masks are required for ages 3 and up in addition to social distancing. Library staff can answer any questions you may have at 798-5613.

■The Little Book Houses are now being utilized at two locations: the Town Hall upper parking lot and Carpenter Park near the pavilion. The playground remains closed, but the fields and trails are open. Take a book, leave a book!

■Get prepared to vote in the upcoming September primary and the Nov. 3 general election. If you are apprehensive about voting in person due to COVID-19, you have the opportunity to obtain an absentee ballot. You can download one at chichesternh.org or call the Town Clerk at 798-5350 to request one.

■The Heritage Commission will meet on Thursday at the library at 7 p.m. If you are interested in the beautification of Chichester, as well as its heritage, stop in. Call Lucille Noel at 798-5709 for information.

■ The Concord-Epsom Elks Lodge is having a yard sale on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine. Tables are $10. Contact Sarah at 833-0605

■A planning board meeting will meet on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the town office.

■The Epsom Public Library will start accepting returns on Monday and will start offering curbside pickup by appointment on June 29. The library will offer these services within reduced hours (Monday through Thursday, 1 to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.) and the library building will remain closed to the public with the exception of the Meeting Room, which will be used for returning materials. For the safety of the staff and patrons, wear a face mask while returning materials. If you do not have a mask, the library will have some available.

■Epsom Public library will be hosting a “Wildlife Encounters” on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. This program and the Turtle Show will be shown via Zoom. You will need to download the Zoom app onto your device for viewing. There is no cost. If you would like to be emailed the link, please email vbennerepl@gmail.com or call 736-9920. Other programs are being planned this summer as well.

■An Epsom School Board meeting will be held on June 30 from 6 to 7 p.m. at Epsom Central School, 282 Black Hall Road.

■Starting June 30 the Center Hill Road bridge closest to Route 4 will be closed for about three weeks. RS Audley, Inc. will be replacing the deck membrane and rebuilding the approaches. This is an inconvenience, but this work really needs to be done to prevent any future damage to the bridge. If you have any questions, contact the town Road Agent at 545-4302. ■Nominations for Pittsfield’s Citizen of the Year are being accepted. Now is the time to nominate the person whom you believe deserves to be honored for actions and activities that benefit the town. ■The First Congregational Church, 24 Main St., is pleased to announce it is reopening for services on Sunday at 10 a.m. Please bring a face mask if you have one (or one will be provided), remember to distance yourself and follow instructions given by the ushers. Please use the front entrance off Main Street, although you may park in the church’s lot on Chestnut Street. Those with wheelchairs or walkers may use the parking lot entrance. ■The Josiah Carpenter Library Summer Reading Program will be starting on Monday. Visit the library from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday or Thursday to learn more and pick up packets.

■The town beach at the FB Argue Recreation Area will open on Monday, June 22.   The area will be open from 12 to 5 Monday through Friday.   There will be no concession stand this summer and no weekend hours.  Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the operation of the area will look different this season. Social distancing while waiting to enter the area is mandatory and other rules will be listed at the beach.  Please visit the town website at pittsfieldnh.gov for the full list of guidelines.

■The Pittsfield Town Hall has transitioned to modified public hours on Monday (2 to 6 p.m.), Thursday (11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.), and Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday (8 a.m. to noon). Only one person per service window will be permitted in the lobby area at a time. Customers are asked to wear a mask. Markers will be spaced 6 feet apart on the landing outside the Town Hall door. Access to hand sanitizer will be provided in the lobby. Restrooms are closed to the public. Residents are still encouraged to use online services, mail or the drop box next to the Town Hall door to conduct business. Motor vehicle renewals, dog licenses, vital record requests, building permit payments, police citations and tax and sewer payments can all be processed in these ways. ■The Pittsfield Food Pantry is open on Monday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and has additional Monday hours from 4-6 p.m. The pantry is located at 55 Barnstead Road.
