■The Allenstown Historical Society will meet on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Suncook Business Park, off Route 28 on Lavoie Drive.

■The Allenstown Historical Society thanks all who participated in its yard sale. The winners of the raffle are Mike Petrin (cedar chest), Pauline Young (pots and pans), John Logan (fishing chair) and Noelle Caryl (black bears). Congratulations! 

■The Annual Bake Sale for the Allenstown Historical Society will be held on Friday. Fresh homemade baked goods will be available from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Old Allenstown Meeting House, 150 Deerfield Road. For more informational call 485-4437.

■St. John the Baptist wishes to thank the Knights of Columbus for providing take home meals to the community for the past few months. Last Wednesday were the last meals for this season. They wish everyone a healthy summer.

■The Chichester Historical Society will meet at the museum on Tuesday from 9 a.m. to noon.

■The Planning Board will meet from 6:30-10 p.m. on Thursday at the Fire Station.

■In-person selectboard meetings will resume in July (with social distancing) at Grange Hall. Contact Jodi Pinard for information on public attendance policy.

■Chichester welcomes back Alan Quimby as Fire Chief! His posts on the Chichester  Facebook page with the fire danger for the day are very helpful. Now, if he can make it rain…

■To promote the safest environment, the Chichester Supervisors of the Checklist encourage residents who plan to register to vote to do so over the summer rather than wait in line on election day. Visit chichesternh.org and contact the Town Clerk for an appointment to register as well, as to request absentee ballots for the fall elections.

■Chichester voters can learn about candidates, virtual town halls and other events by checking out the Pembroke/Chichester Democrats Facebook page. You can also email PembrokeChichesterNewHampshireDemocrats@gmail.com.

■Check out the board in front of the library. If it says “free books down back,” drive around back and help yourself to free books! The book store remains closed at this time, but there will be a couple of sales in July.

■ The Board of Selectmen will meet on Monday at 6 p.m. at the town offices. 

■The Epsom School Board will meet on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at ECS. 

■The town’s reopening plan is in place and will have meetings by appointment only. To schedule an appointment, call 736-9002. Option 2 is for the Town Clerk/Tax Collector’s Office and option 3 is for the Board of Selectmen. The Board of Selectmen and Office staff have developed operating procedures, based upon public health guidelines, which will be in effect until further notice. ■The Epsom Public Library now has reduced hours: Monday-Thursday (1-6 p.m.), Saturday (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.), Friday and Sunday (closed). On Monday, the library will also begin offering curbside pickup by appointment. Please call the library at 736-9920 for more information.

■Mark your calendar for “Turtles Have Stories to Tell” on July 14 at 6:30 p.m. with Mary Doane, the Turtle Lady. The program includes storytelling, music, movement and creative arts. Enjoy box turtles, aquatic turtles and more. Registration is required and numbers are limited. Each child will receive a craft packet from Mary prior to the program. ■A reminder that the Center Hill Road bridge closest to Route 4 is closed for about three weeks. RS Audley, Inc., will be replacing the deck membrane and rebuilding the approaches. This will be an inconvenience, but this work needs to be done to prevent any future damage to the bridge. If you have any questions you can contact the town road agent at 545-4302. ■Nominations for Pittsfield’s Citizen of the Year are being accepted. Now is the time to nominate the person whom you believe deserves to be honored for actions and activities that benefit the town. ■The Josiah Carpenter Library Summer Reading program has begun! The theme for this summer’s reading program is “Imagine your Story”. Visit the library from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays or Thursdays to learn more and pick up packets and/or a new story that will be posted on Facebook every Monday with fun activities, crafts and prizes throughout! Come and join the fun! The summer program is for kids in preschool through sixth grade. A younger aged craft and an older STEM craft is also available for pick up at the library.

■Even though traditional Old Home Day activities are cancelled, the Old Home Day Committee invites everyone to decorate their home or business in the would-be theme “Red, White & Blue.” Start now and keep the decorations up through July! 

■The next meeting of the American Legion Peterson-Cram Post 75 is on July 6 at 7:30 p.m. at the Pittsfield Town Hall. Social distancing will be required.

■The Pittsfield Beautification Committee would like to sincerely thank all of the generous citizens that have contributed to its fundraising effort over the last several weeks. Also thanks to those of you that say a kind word when you pass as the committee members weed and water the town gardens. Compliments are always welcome!

■The town beach at the FB Argue Recreation Area is open from 12-5 p.m., Monday through Friday. There will be no concession stand this summer and no weekend hours. Social distancing guidelines while waiting to enter the area is mandatory and other rules will be listed at the beach. Please visit pittsfieldnh.gov for the full list of guidelines.

■The Pittsfield Town Hall has transitioned to modified public hours. The following standard operating procedures will be in effect until further notice. These practices are based upon public health guidelines, and are designed to keep both the employees and the public safe. Only one person per service window will be permitted in the lobby area at a time, customers are asked to wear a mask, markers will be spaced 6 feet apart on the landing and outside the Town Hall door, hand sanitizer will be provided in the lobby and restrooms will be closed to the public. Modified hours on Monday are 2-6:30 p.m. Hours on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday are 8 a.m. to noon. Thursday hours at 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Residents are encouraged to utilize online services, mail, or the drop box to conduct business. ■The Pittsfield Food Pantry is open on Mondays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Mondays from 4-6 p.m. at 55 Barnstead Road.

■The Board of Directors of the Suncook Valley Chorale has announced that the fall 2020 season and January 2021 concerts have been cancelled. The Suncook Valley Chorale is Concord’s non-auditioned community chorus. Established in 1982 and directed by Scott Lounsbury, Chorale members range from teenagers to octogenarians who are united by a love for singing. ■The PHS All Class Reunion scheduled for July 11 has been canceled. The plan is to hold the reunion next year on a date to be determined later.
