Three people were injured Tuesday afternoon in a house fire in Weare.
Fire Chief Robert Vezina said the fire appears to have started when a pickup truck ran over a gas can and sprayed gasoline through an open window of the home at 112 East Shore Road. The kitchen stoveโs pilot light ignited the gasoline vapors, causing serious injuries to a woman nearby, he said.
The woman suffered burns to a large percentage of her body; however, the injuries did not appear life-threatening, Vezina said.
Two other adults suffered burns while rendering aid to the woman and attempting to extinguish the flames, according to fire officials.
In total, two people were taken by ambulance to Concord Hospital and one person refused medical transport. No firefighters were injured.
Weare firefighters responded to the East Shore Road home on Tuesday shortly before 2 p.m.ย They were assisted by emergency crews from Bow, Goffstown, Henniker and New Boston.
