The United States Postal Service has played a very important role for our country since our country’s founding, and it remains vital to our society today. There are three problems that need to be addressed for a fully functioning USPS.
First the congressional mandate to fund 75 years of retiree health benefits needs to be modified. Secondly, revenues for services need to increase. I think adding several hundredths of cent tax to each email might solve the funding problem. A side benefit would be that it would be more expensive for spam emailers. And thirdly, the malfeasance of Present Trump against the Postal Service needs to cease. President Trump was not elected to destroy the Postal Service and confidence in the Postal Service. It is hard to see how this is making America great again.
