Dear Democratic Committee members and strategy wonks: Here are three suggestions to assist Joe Biden win this election.
First, as Nancy Pelosi stated, no presidential debate with Donald Trump. The debates are usually a sham, there is no reason to keep with this tradition just for tradition sake, and most importantly, it is exactly what Trump wants. He will turn it into a name-calling, shouting-match circus, ignore the moderator, and enhance his snake oil theatrics. It is his strong point as a showman, and he will revel in the opportunity to make Biden look the weak fool.
Second, Biden must pick and announce his cabinet before the elections. Included should be Yang, Romney, Inslee, Warren, Buttigieg, Weld, Abrams, Bass, and others who are decent deep thinkers. By doing so, he can capture their constituents and allow disenfranchised Republicans to feel comfortable voting for him as they’ll see they will be included.
And third, come out with a detailed economic plan to revitalize the South and Midwest devastated by us moving off of coal and corporations exiting the United States for cheaper labor. The economic plan must include government-sponsored retraining and investments in green industry. These folks rightfully feel left behind and disregarded, and must specifically be the focus of any economic revival. By doing so, not only is it right, it will cut into the non-racist base of Trump.
We must be smart. We cannot let Trump succeed. These ideas can help.
