If you’re looking for things to do with your children or grandchildren this fall, don’t forget about the Mount Kearsarge Indian Museum in Warner.
I visited recently with children aged 5 and 7 and we were treated to a private tour by a kind retired teacher who kept the children’s full attention for well over an hour. The museum has thousands of items representing Native American cultures and traditions from the Northeast as well as other regions. The children thoroughly enjoyed their visit.
This is a great time to learn about other cultures and the Native American way of living in harmony with nature. You can follow up your tour with a short hike up Mount Kearsarge and a snack at Warner’s new cafe. Though we walked in without a reservation, it’s a good idea to call ahead (456-2600).
Masks are required, and the museum provides disposable masks if you don’t have one.
