■The Andover Historical Society will hold a repeat sale of antiques and historical items on Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., inside the freight shed on the grounds of the Potter Place railroad station. Weather permitting, there will also be an outdoor flea market. Social distancing will be in effect.

■If you are planning to file an absentee ballot for the general election on Nov. 3, don’t delay. Go to voteinnh.org/absentee to download the application. Completed applications can be returned to the Town Clerk’s office by email, fax, mail or dropped off in person at 116 N. Main St. Voters are encouraged to request their absentee ballots now. Ballots must arrive at the Town Clerk’s office by 5 p.m. on Nov. 3.
■The Boscawen Transfer Station is no longer accepting cash. Payments must be by check and credit card only. The fees for credit cards will be waived for the first year. The change is being made for safety and health concerns surrounding cash handling and for the convenience of residents.
■Patrons and visitors are welcome to stop by the Boscawen Public Library for browsing and checking out materials, Monday-Thursday from 12 to 4:30 p.m. No appointment is needed although the library does have a limit of 10 people inside (including staff). ■Canterbury Shaker Village’s Concert on the Green for Sunday was rescheduled due to rain until Sept. 27 from 4 to 5 p.m., with the Concord-based bluegrass band The Wholly Rollers. Bring a lawn chair, seating is socially distanced and masks required. Free event but suggested donation of $10. The next concert will be Suzuki Strings on Sept. 20. Other events include an outdoor screening of “Casablanca,” the 1942 classic movie, on Sept. 25 at 7 p.m., on the Meeting House Green. And on Sept. 26, there will be a Yard/Tag/Garage and Store Sale, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The grounds are open and weekend outdoor guided tours are available at 11 a.m. and at 2 p.m. Masks are expected and social distancing will be observed. ■Canterbury Farmer’s Market is held every Wednesday from 4 to 6:30 p.m. on the parking lot of the Elkins Public Library in the center unless there are thunderstorms. Please note Covid 19 safety issues: the Market will be walk through but some options of curbside pickup; customers will be encouraged to use hand sanitizer before entering the Market; prepared food must be taken off site to eat; customers are asked to send minimal family members, and any children must be kept with parent/guardian at all times; no pets are allowed this year; volunteers will wear masks; market tokens will still be sold and sanitized beforehand. Please wear a mask and maintain social distance while visiting the office.
■Elkins Public Library has reopened. Masks will be required. Hours will be Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to noon. ■The Webster Free Public Library Virtual Book Group will meet on Sept. 24 at 7:15 p.m. The book this month is “The Mountains Sing” by Phan Que Mai Nguyen. This book chronicles several generations of a Vietnamese family from the period of the Japanese and French occupations to the Vietnam War.
