I hope you go to the polls on Election Day or vote by absentee. The Nov. 3 general election is one of the most important elections we have ever held.
I am pleased to support Dennis Soucy for state representative in Ward 8. Dennis and I may differ on the federal level, but in the state and local positions we share the same thoughts.
Dennis and his wife, Carol, have been residents of the Concord Heights for over 40 years, and Carol was born on the Concord Plains/Heights 70 years ago. They know and appreciate the history of Burglar’s Island, Dark Plains, Concord Plains, and now Concord Heights.
It seems the politicians of today who haven’t lived here very long couldn’t care less.
Dennis is an Army veteran, honorary member of the Disabled American Veterans, and a very active in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church Parish, doing all kinds of volunteer duties. He and Carol are always walking along Regional Drive picking up trash, and maintaining a spot for walkers to rest a moment.
Always check the voting records of any incumbent before you vote. I admit I do not vote straight party; I look at and study the candidates and vote for whom I think will represent us the best.
There was a trend to oust the older people in the House a couple of ago. However, experience does matter when these dedicated people attend meetings and sessions. I hope you will cast your ballot for Dennis Soucy to be your state representative.
