On Nov. 3 we will vote for Tom Schamberg as our state representative for Merrimack County District 4, which includes Wilmot and Sutton.
Here’s why:
■Tom listens. He also asks questions.
■Tom bases his decisions on facts. He is not wedded to party rhetoric.
■Tom shows up. In recent years he has attended hundreds of meetings including those for town committees and commissions and for many local not-for-profit organizations. This is one method he employs to learn firsthand what matters to residents of Wilmot and Sutton.
■Tom is interested in a wide spectrum of issues including, but not limited to, public education, affordable health care, jobs, infrastructure and renewable energy produced in New Hampshire.
■Tom is experienced. He has served in elected office at the municipal and state level.
■Tom collaborates with others. He knows this is the most effective way to work for residents of Wilmot and Sutton.
■Tom responds. He replies to phone calls and emails – often in just a few minutes and always within a day.
■Tom is forthright. If we don’t agree on an issue, he has a logical explanation for his position or vote; often it’s because he has access to more information than we do.
