I watched part of both recent presidential debates. Shutting off the second microphone during the last debate helped greatly. The other thing needed to make these debates worth watching would be some continuously working, fast, real-time fact-checkers who would sound a loud whistle or gong whenever they detected a lie. Those untruth buttons would have been kept pretty busy during the recent presidential debates.
