Thank you to the citizens of New Hampshire for selecting Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. I am proud that, when given the choice, we chose truth.

At the state level, we voted for property tax increases. If the pattern holds, when Republicans are in control of our State House, they hand out tax cuts to their wealthy donor buddies. Cuts to state revenue invariably lead to property-tax increases in cities and towns across the state. I am not looking forward to the out-of-state-billionaire wish list our state government will pursue over the next two years. Remember when the first move in 2017 was the so-called โ€œright-to-workโ€ legislation? The anti-union bill, which had been cut-and-pasted from ALEC boilerplate, had not been relevant in New Hampshire before then, and has not been since. I will expect better from our state government, and I will remember that cuts to state revenue lead to an increase in our property-tax burden.

I recently read an interview with the governor where he was proud to announce a tax cut as his first priority. I remember thinking that a revenue cut was a curious priority, considering our latest active cases map.
