Letting the Zionism concept play out was a shameful episode in American history. It all came down to timing – the sympathy of the world when they learned about the Holocaust and Harry Truman’s need for the Jewish vote. So it did happen and the horrific crimes against Palestinian humanity came with it.
We can’t undo it, but why are we sitting here more than 70 years later witnessing the continuing atrocities and crimes inflicted on a people who did nothing to deserve what has happened to them? The Nakba didn’t happen in 1948. It started in 1948 and it continues to this day.
If the United States felt so strongly that we needed to allow the Jewish people to steal back a land they had left 2,000 years earlier, why don’t they also believe the Native Americans have a right to return to the land they lived on just 200 years ago before we came along?
Many Jews believe the Palestinians deserve their freedom and a just settlement for what the Israelis have done to them. Zionists are in the process of bringing doom to the Jewish people. It is past due for Jews to unite and send a message loud and clear to the United States government – standing by Israel, regardless of the horrendous crimes they are committing, is not being supportive of the Jewish people.
Republicans and Democrats need to switch to the Green Party. There will never be peace in our world until we break free of Zionism.
