November’s state election results were bad, with the Executive Council and both State House chambers changing hands. We knew it wouldn’t be long until they had lined up another tax cut for businesses. I
guess the first giveaway – hundreds of millions of dollars out of our pockets and into business coffers –- wasn’t enough. Never mind that the economy was humming along just fine when Chris Sununu took office in 2017.
Now they’re setting up to give another $140 million away. Get ready to take another property tax hit. Kachunk!
And if businesses move here for lower taxes – still debatable – they will find fewer and fewer of the educated, skilled workers they profess to need. The “New Hampshire Advantage” seems to work best for those with lakeside homes and trust funds, and not so much for the working stiff.
Next up: gerrymandering every district to spread their minority rule, and stay in power for the next decade. After that, more voter suppression (triple IDs at polls, and troopers at the border to keep those buses of voters from coming up from Massachusetts), followed by even more silly gun rules. (More guns in schools! Arm school nurses!)
Did no one see this coming? Sheesh.
