In the spirit of community collaboration, Elkins Public Library and The Canterbury Whole Child Center have come together to create some fun! Visit and walk amongst the snow people near the Meeting House and the space between the church and the library. We want to fill this space with snow people and would love help building them! Much like a traditional “story walk,” people are encouraged to be outdoors while enjoying text from a children’s book. In this case the book “Snowmen at Night” by Caralyn Buehner. As snow people appear they will be decorated with the pages from this wonderful book that tells the tale of what snowmen do in their free time when we are not watching. Please observe social distancing and mask wearing.

■The Webster Free Public Library and the Town Clerk’s Office are closed on Monday for Presidents’ Day. The town clerk will have extra hours on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. These are in addition to her regular hours.

■If February is making you feel as if your house is shrinking and the snow outside is growing, maybe it’s time for some free entertainment. Concord TV is on YouTube. I found “From the Mayflower to King Philip’s War” with Michael Tougias, presented by the Walker Lecture Series. If history is not your interest, what about the “Music in the Park Series” brought to you by the Capitol Center for the Arts. If you look in the February issue of “The Grapevine,” you will find a listing of upcoming events in the Walker Lecture Series. Keep in mind there are only 36 days until spring!

■For anyone looking for a day, aside from Valentine’s Day, to celebrate, Feb. 14 is also Ferris Wheel Day, which commemorates the birthday of George Washington Gale Ferris, Jr., the creator of the first ferris wheel.
