I was able to listen to and watch the majority of the impeachment hearings on former President Trump. I am disgusted that so many Republicans don’t have the backbone to vote for the impeachment. Why? They are worried about the fallout from Trump and his supporters and not being elected again. More than ever, we need term limits in Congress.
The evidence is overwhelming that Trump was the cause of this assault on our democracy. For months he told supporters that if he wasn’t re-elected, then the voting in our country was rigged. Our commander in chief who swore an oath to protect and defend our country did absolutely nothing for hours during the insurrection except watch his TV with glee as his supporters ransacked our Capitol and viciously beat those completely outnumbered Capitol Police trying to defend it.
One of those brave men died because Trump did absolutely nothing to support them.
I have been a Republican all of my voting life until this last election. I was one of those Republicans who made campaign contributions to President Joe Biden’s election. I may not like all of President Biden’s policies but at least we have civility and respect back in the Oval Office. God Bless the U.S.A.
