The COVID-19 pandemic has brought a lot of the ugly parts of society out into the public’s eye. One ugly part of society in New Hampshire that has come to the forefront is the lack of paid sick leave.
We all get sick; it is a simple fact of life. However, under the current system, some of us have the privilege to take time to seek medical attention and recover from illness while others do not.
This severe inequality is simply unacceptable in a modern New Hampshire. Furthermore, the lack of paid sick leave in New Hampshire is costly as well.
Senate Bill 67 will incentivize workers to stay home when they are sick, which will decrease the spread of infectious diseases and increase productivity in the long run. Paid sick leave is a step towards a brighter future for New Hampshire, please contact your local state representatives and senators asking them to support SB 67.
