The words “Live Free or Die” really have taken on a new meaning. Most people in NH don’t even know who uttered those words, or why. But boy, many folks continue to like the “free” part. And now a bonus for getting a job? Another “free” program for those that can’t, won’t, are lazy, it’s “beneath my education” to get a job. COVID was not, and is not, “an excuse,”but instead something that we all had to “work through.” Get it? Work! Let’s face it, there is a lot more to this equation than just giving someone a bonus to get a job. Minimum wage stinks.
If the NH golden dome crowd could remember that bread, apartments and gas are not quite the same cost now that they were in 1958, we could up the minimum wage, get people back to work, put more money into the tax base, which means a better way of living for everyone. Hey NH, how about we remember what “Live Free or Die” really means and put an end to the free handouts for people to live “free.” Nothing in this world is free, and stimulus checks, a bonus for people getting a job, and other free handouts are paid for through hard work by people with jobs. Give the hard workers a bonus and do the right thing by making it worthwhile to have a job and work each day. A let’s live up to the motto, “Live Free or Die.”
