■A free concert will be held on Sunday 4-6 p.m. at Town Hall, 16 School St. with Nicole Knox Murphy, an award winning singer. This event is sponsored by the Allenstown Economic Development Committee. Remember to bring a chair or blankets to sit on. Refreshments are available.
■St. John the Baptist monthly market will be held Saturday from 3:30-5:30 p.m. and on May 30 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Parish Hall.
■St. John the Baptist flowers may be placed on graves as early as Friday. All items placed on the ground at the cemetery for Memorial Day must be removed by June 13.
■The Memorial Day Mass this year will be celebrated on May 31 at the St. John the Baptist cemetery at 10 a.m. In case of rain, the Mass will move to the cemetery chapel.

■There were 269 votes cast during the May 11 town and school elections. Ed Millette was elected as a selectman, Alisa Mullen was elected school district clerk, Bri Stone was elected to the school board, Bonnie Potter was elected town clerk, Holly MacCleery was elected school treasurer, Brenda Bosway was elected cemetery trustee and Mary Castelli was elected library trustee. All zoning articles passed.
■The board of selectmen motioned to make masks optional and to remove the mask mandate at Town Hall. This went into effect on May 18. The selectmen meeting on June 1 will be held at Town Hall with masks optional. Social distancing is still in place.
■The Chichester Historical Society will meet on Tuesday from 9 a.m. to noon at the historical building on Main Street.
Carpenter Memorial Park has many volunteers keeping the grounds looking fresh with color. Volunteers have done landscaping and planted flowers. Taking a walk around the half mile perimeter trail you will see birds, wild flowers and a small stream. Seating is available.
■B.C.E.P Solid Waste District’s monthly meeting is Thursday at 6 p.m. at the facility.
■The Chichester Grange will present a Memorial Day program on May 30 at 2 p.m. at Town Hall around the granite memorial and flag pole. The flowers are dedicated in memory of Louise Flanders. This program will pay respect to the ultimate sacrifice that men and women in service did for this country.
■Chichester dogs not licensed by June 1 will be assessed a late fee by the Town Clerk’s Office. Rabies vaccinations must be up-to-date and on file with the office. The town clerk can process new boat registrations and renewals. This service is also available to non-residents.
■Chichester children ages 15 and under are welcome to participate in Free Youth Fishing Day at 251 Center Hill Road in Epsom on June 5 starting at 8 a.m. Prizes will be awarded by the Evergreen Lodge Oddfellows and the Elwood O. Wells American Legion Post.
■Chichester residents can drive their own car on the New Hampshire Motor Speedway racetrack or ride in the official pace car on June 11, starting at 4:30 p.m. This is a children’s charity event. Visit speedwaycharities.org for information.
■The Chichester Firefighters Association will be holding a town wide yard sale on June 12 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. There are three ways to participate: 1) donate items to the association, 2) set up a sales table at the fire station, or 3) have your home yard sale listed on a map for $5. ■A recycling bin for aluminum cans is located in the Chichester Fire Department parking lot. The Epsom-Chichester Lions Clubs benefits from the funds collected and returns the funds to the community through public service.

■The Undercover Food Pantry at Chichester Hope in Christ Church is helping area residents by providing eggs, meats and breads, in addition to non-perishable food. Delivery and special items are available upon request. Coolers are out Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to noon. This is an anonymous way to get your food needs met. ■The library was also selected as one of 300 libraries to participate in the Libraries Transforming Communities grant program. The competitive award comes with a $3,000 grant to help the library with the mental health needs of the town. The library will be hosting programs this summer promoting the grant.

■Chichester resident Bette Bogdan, Ph.D, RN-BC, has been awarded the Daisy Foundation Award from Purdue for the exceptional input in her students future. The Daisy Foundation honors nurses internationally who enjoy teaching and role modeling compassion, innovation and logical thinking to the next generation of nurses. Congratulations to Bette!
■Dr. Cliff and Mare recently attended a tractor parade with their 1954 Ford tractor. This tractor is always a hit with parade attendees.

■Do you have a policeman, fireman or someone in the military that you would like to recognize? The Peterson-Cram American Legion Post 75 will be holding a “Field of Honor” to recognize all these heroes. Each flag will have a ribbon on top to symbolize the service of the person being recognized – blue for police, red for fire and white for military. Each flag and ribbon is $3 and will fly through June 1 in front of the Pittsfield Police Department. All proceeds will go towards a scholarship for a graduating Pittsfield Middle High School student. ■New Hampshire law requires that the supervisors of the checklist verify the voter checklist every 10 years. Any person on the checklist who has not voted in the past four years must re-register to vote to remain on the checklist. The supervisors are sending notice letters to these voters at the address the voter provided when registering. Pittsfield supervisors will hold a session for re-registering voters who have not voted since April 1, 2017 at Town Hall on Monday from 5-6:30 p.m. At this session they will be accepting applications for new voter registration, requests for the correction of the checklist and/or change of political party affiliation.
■American Legion Post 75 is having a Memorial Day ceremony on May 30 at 1 p.m. at Dustin Park to honor all the deceased veterans. Please join in. This is a chance to join with the American Legion to help repay the debt we owe.
■Paula Martel has given her all for the last 14 years as Pittsfield Youth Workshop’s rockstar program director. Paula has done an amazing job growing PYW programs into the exemplars that they are today. Her connections with youth and families will be hard to replicate. We will certainly miss having her around, but know that she will always be part of the PYW family. We wish her the best in her new adventures. There will be an informal farewell for Paula on June 4 from 4:30-6 p.m. at PYW. Please swing by to say hello and share some memories with Paula on her last day.

■Lace up your sneakers and get ready to read! The library has partnered with 16 other locations around town to host its very first town-wide story walk. A StoryWalk is a series of signs featuring sequential spreads from a children’s picture book. As you follow the map, you’re directed to the next page in the story. The first walk starts at Jitters Cafe, 44 Main St., where you can grab a map and start the story. The story ends back at the library, 41 Main St., where you can stop in for a free gift from No Worry Storage upon completing the StoryWalk.
■Your help is needed to save the 401(c) non-profit Friends of the Suncook River, Inc., from disappearing. Friends of the Suncook River has been inactive for months, but this month an annual report needs to be filed with the state to keep the non-profit alive. Getting non-profit status is difficult so it would be a shame to lose it, as the group can be positioned around any aspect of the Suncook River decided upon.
