Mindy Inglis-Reid of Canterbury Woods birdied the last two holes to tie Beth Hamilton at a score of 75 and force a sudden death playoff, and won the second playoff hole to came back-to-back Women’s City Senior Golf Championship title.
The annual tournament was played at Concord Country Club on Sunday.
Hamilton, the top gross score in the age 50-59 flight, also plays out of Canterbury Woods. Corey Richardson (Duston Country Club) and Mindy Williams (Canterbury Woods) carded 80 and 81, respectively, to finish second and third.
Valerie Guy (Loudon Country Club) had the best net score with a 68, followed by Lisa Cummings (Canterbury Woods) with a 71.
Torrie Whitcher (Canterbury Woods) had the best age 60-69 gross score with an 85 and Kathi Schoch (Duston Country Club) had the best net score by carding a 66.
In the 70-plus flight, Pembroke Pines golfers had the best gross score (Alicia Perry with an 88) and net score (Eliane Eno with a 65).
Chris Ettinger recorded his second career hole-in-one on the 16th hole at Pembroke Pines using a pitching wedge on the 127-yard ace. The shot was witnessed by Pete and Hagan White.
Concord Northeast’s Local Baskit won its semifinal game against Hopkinton Convenient MD to advance to the annual Martel Cup championship. Abbie Vlacich started and closed the game in the circle and was helped by two RBI and a game-winning run by Rowan Steinberg. Mahalie Burdette amd Dorothy Ricard also started a mid-game rally with a home run and double. Kiley Taylor was stellar at catcher and at the plate.
In Concord Northeast majors baseball action, Banks Chevrolet defeated Hopkinton in the championship game. Patrick Owen and Alex Turant led Banks with three hits each. Wyatt Rockwell, Chase Haskell and Jack Noel also had hits and an RBI each. Tyler Mayo earned the win on the mound. Micheal DiPiano and Issac Price had hits and an RBI for Hopkinton. Banks also defeated Rowley, 8-5, in an earlier round. For Rowley, Cam Bobrow had three hits and Liam Ryan had a hit. For Banks, Turant turned two double plays and Noel had a go-ahead double with two RBI.
■Concord Little League’s Associated Grocers improved to 8-3 with an 8-6 comeback victory over Granite State Glass. The Grocers were led by the pitching and hitting of Adam Morgan and Patrick Fennessy. Alique Valeras and Nicholas Mercier played well in the field. Granite State Glass was led by the pitching and hitting of Billy Mullen. Tayeson Hall and Ian Norton led the defense.
