Concord Chronic Pain group continues online

I know that some of our group members have faced many challenges this year. Some have had surgery or their conditions have gotten worse, resulting in more pain and complications. Some may finally be on an improved course. All have faced challenges with courage and mindfulness. Letโ€™s spend some time together on Tuesday to share some ideas about how self-compassion can sometimes help us cope better with situations that may seem out of our control. The Zoom meeting will be held July 13 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Please register in advance for this meeting through this link: zoom.us/meeting/register/tJAucOypqzIsEtRCWXFFbjU9RGXCXPqx81R-. After registering your information, which includes saying โ€œyesโ€ to the disclaimer, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. (If you want to join by phone please email at bobbibnh@comcast.net or call 603-540-3119 and I will give you the information to dial in, if you cannot connect using the registration link above.) Letโ€™s welcome any new people to our call. We will continue to meet by Zoom until the US Pain Foundation approves in-person meetings again. In the meantime, I would like to hear from you by email about your opinion/preference on meeting format.

Grants available from NH Humanities

New Hampshire Humanities invites all New Hampshire-based humanities organizations, cultural institutions, and other eligible non-profits to apply for โ€œSustaining the Humanities Through the American Rescue Plan (SHARP)โ€ Grants. The 2021 American Rescue Plan Act (ARP) allocated significant funds to the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) to assist organizations impacted by the pandemic. The NEH subsequently apportioned $51.6 million to the nationโ€™s state humanities councils through its SHARP program, with the intention that the councils would disseminate the funds to humanities and cultural organizations across their respective states. NHH SHARP grants are intended to provide relief funds to humanities and cultural organizations impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Grant funds can be used to cover general operational expenses and/or support organization programs. Applicants may request up to $20,000 and there is no matching funds requirement. Applications are due by 5 p.m. on August 6, 2021. All grant-funded expenses or activities must begin no later than Dec. 1, 2021, and end before Nov. 30, 2022. For more information and to access the application materials, refer to the SHARP Grant page on the NHH website or go to nhhumanities.org/nhsharp. If you have any additional questions or would like to discuss your eligibility, please contact Agnes Burt, Ph.D., NHH Grants Program Manager, at aburt@nhhumanities.org.
