One of the most common complaints I hear from New Hampshire residents is how high the property taxes are. Property taxes have been historically high in New Hampshire because we have no income or sales taxes. But the new state budget lowers property tax obligations statewide. There is now more federal funding into New Hampshire than there has ever been.

In addition, this budget directs $400 million to property tax relief, which translates into more money flowing to towns, which in turn must follow in the legislatureโ€™s footsteps and lower property taxes at the local level accordingly. Lower property taxes mean Granite Staters have more disposable income. More disposable income stimulates the economy by putting those property tax savings into local businesses, meals, entertainment, travel, especially as New Hampshire re-opens from the pandemic and our local businesses breathe new life. This strong and strengthening economic engine powers investment in our state, benefitting all residents. No income taxes. No sales taxes. Lower property taxes as a result of the most conservative budget in our stateโ€™s history. A strong and growing economy. The New Hampshire advantage is thriving!
