Franklin Area Children’s Theatre is a program of Franklin Opera House to give children the chance to learn about all aspects of musical theater. Now in its 14th season, FACT has provided a positive experience for hundreds of children in grades one through eight. It’s also an incredible educational experience for the teenage interns who are hired to work for the program, building self-confidence and love for the arts to last a lifetime.

FACT is an offspring of the Franklin Opera House, Franklin Footlight Theatre and the FHS Players. The program covers basics in theater training and performance art, and culminates in a group production at the end of each camp. In just two weeks, campers learn the basics of bringing a full musical show from the script to the stage. Artistic Director and founder of Franklin Footlight Theater, Jule Finley holds a master’s degree and a graduate certificate in education and integration of the arts. She has received numerous awards for her activities in theatre, education, and citizenship. Since the first F.A.C.T. production in 2007, hundreds of children have had the opportunity to perform on stage, many for the first time.
