The Concord High School Class of 1953 recently met for lunch to celebrate the 68th anniversary of their graduation. Ginger Beck Sanborn of Chichester was the general chairman of the event.
Twenty-seven classmates and 15 guests were in attendance. The class has met every year since 2003, except in 2020. The classmates came from Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine and New Hampshire. Ordinarily a few attendees travel to the reunion by airplane, but current travel and pandemic conditions prevented that from happening this year.
The Class of 1953 members heard a report from the finance chairpersons Freda Spiro and Rae Hurd McBride. Three Concord High seniors were awarded Class of ’53 scholarships this past June. Thank you notes from all of the very worthy three recipients were read. Again the class members thank the Concord High School staff for evaluating the student applications and the District Finance Office for holding and distributing the scholarship money.
Thanks a million to the class members themselves who at this luncheon donated $4,014 to continue their scholarship program. This is the fourth year in a row that the donations have exceeded four thousand dollars.
