On Election Day Nov. 2, four candidates will be vying for three seats on the Concord School Board, and 14 candidates will by vying for nine seats on the Concord School District Charter Commission.

There are three at-large positions open on the school board this year. Incumbents Pamela Walsh and Barb Higgins are both running for re-election, alongside newcomers Timothy Benitez and Robert Cotton.

Current School Board member Danielle Smith, who started her term on the school board in 2018, is not seeking re-election.

โ€œIโ€™m eager to work with our current board over the next four months, but Iโ€™m also looking forward to things slowing down a bit and to be able to spend more time with my family,โ€ Smith said Monday.

The School District Charter Commission, which is being formed to review the Concord School District charter, will consist of two members from District A, two members from District B, two members from District C and three at-large members.

Tom Croteau, Matthew Fisk, Tracey Lesser, Patrice Myers and Benton โ€œChickโ€ Smith are running for the Charter Commissionโ€™s two District A seats. Wilbur โ€œBillโ€ Glahn and Nancy Kane are running for the two District B seats. Cathryn Vaughn and Eric Weiner are running for the two District C seats. William Ardinger, Clinton Cogswell, Elizabeth โ€œBettyโ€ Hoadley, Roy Schweiker, and Robert Washburn are running for the three at-large seats.

Tom Croteau is the only candidate running for school district treasurer and Patrick Taylor is the only candidate running for school district clerk.
