Real estate agent safety

Meredith Village Savings Bank and Merrimack County Savings Bank are working together to present a complimentary webinar on safety for local Realtors. In the hour-long virtual event, former Tilton Police Chief and security expert Bobby Cormier will provide real-world best practices to help Realtors remain safe on the job. The webinar will take place on Sept. 23 at 10 a.m. “When business hours are flexible and meeting clients in new and unfamiliar settings is the norm, it’s important to make personal safety a priority,” said Cormier. “With the added stresses of low inventory, bidding wars and financial pressures due to the pandemic, we hope this webinar will give local Realtors some simple tips, techniques and routines they can use to stay safe during everyday business.” Interested Realtors can register for the event online at surveymonkey.com/r/RealtorSafety2021. Bobby Cormier recently retired from his role as Tilton Police Chief after 14 years serving in the role and a nearly four decades in law enforcement. He received his bachelor’s degree in law enforcement from Boston State College, a master’s in public administration from Southern New Hampshire University and is a graduate of the 245th class of the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy.

ConcordNonprofit seeks cards for troops

Holiday Cards 4 Our Military was started right here in the Granite State 18 years ago by Dr. Laura Landerman-Garber. It was a lesson in gratitude for her then young children. At thanksgiving, Cards were a “ticket to turkey” and now that she is a grandmother, her grandchildren know the drill if they desire turkey and pumpkin pie at the holiday meal. It has turned into a national effort with cards sent in from 48 states and Canada. To contribute, start with a greeting on a card or paper no larger than 8½ by 11 inches folded in half. Address the card “Dear warrior.” Write a personal note. Share about your community and inquire as to their holiday traditions. The messages can be funny, serious or both as long as it’s appropriate and respectful. Troops love drawings, too; be creative. Sign your first name only and your city and state. If you are part of a group, you can add that information too. Envelopes are not necessary. If you have an envelope, do not seal it. The 2021 deadline is Oct. 31. You can send completed cards to P.O. Box 103, Hollis, NH 03049 or UPS/FedEx at Holiday Card Challenge, Suite 407, 400 Amherst St., Nashua 03063.
