This evening heard I an interview of a veteran of the Vietnam war. He was exposed to agent orange and, as many similarly exposed Vietnam-era veterans, has developed cancer. He was scheduled for a bone marrow transplant, a successful treatment for his kind of cancer when he got the call from his doctor saying that the hospital had cancelled his surgery because they had so many COVID-19 patients they could not staff both the COVID unit and the surgical unit. If his treatment is delayed, it will not be as effective. He may die because someone chose not to serve their country by receiving the vaccine.
Perhaps you are too young to remember, Gov. Sununu, but during the Vietnam War, there was a draft sending many young men to Vietnam whether they chose to do so or not. Please explain to me why people who choose not to be vaccinated should have priority in hospitals over veterans. Please, do not spend our state’s taxpayer dollars to sue the Federal government over vaccination mandates. Please use your bully pulpit and our taxpayer dollars to encourage all the citizens of New Hampshire to become vaccinated.
