Team Building Fridays is a new third-grade initiative at Center Woods Elementary School in Weare. Each week for about 30 minutes, students build connections with each other during team-building activities. In Mrs. Caterino’s class recently, the challenge was to create the tallest tower each team could using spaghetti and marshmallows. They tried various solutions to see what worked and what didn’t, sometimes changing their thinking along the way. The spaghetti and marshmallow tower challenge was the second one for Mrs. Caterino’s class this year. The first was an outdoor activity where students moved around using hula hoops, trying not to bump into each other, making communication key.
