■NHTI presents the 24th Annual Manhattan Short Film Festival and will offer one more show today at 2 p.m. at the Sweeney Auditorium. The NHTI’s Film Society, together with Barry Steelman, is pleased to present this festival featuring the most creative short films in the world – judged internationally by the cinema-going public. ■Concord Hospital is offering a class called Baby Steps on Oct. 12 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. This is an educational support group for mothers and partners transitioning from the birth of their baby through the first 12 weeks postpartum and beyond. Join other new parents in an informal online setting via Zoom. Education, support and resources to help parents celebrate and adapt to this new chapter, will be provided by a registered nurse from The Family Place, as well as topic experts. ■Join the Annual NAMIWalks Your Way New Hampshire on Saturday virtually anywhere. NAMIWalks is the largest mental health awareness fundraising event in New Hampshire. This event helps NAMI New Hampshire provide education, support, and advocacy for more than 29,000 adults and children affected by mental illness and suicide each year. ■Public ice skating is available at the Everett Arena. Skating hours will be Monday through Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Admission is $6 for ages 14 and up, $5 for ages 13 and below and kids ages 3 and under are free. Skate rentals will be available in the pro shop for $5. Skate rentals and skate aide walkers (limited supply) will be thoroughly disinfected after each use upon returning to the Pro Shop. ■The Concord Farmers Market will be open on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to noon and is located off of Capitol Street in Downtown Concord. The event offers 40 vendors, including meat, eggs, dairy, fruit, vegetables, fish, honey, bakery, and maple products. Also featured are potted plants, cut flowers, wood products, dog treats, and body care products.

■Enjoy a Greek Meal at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church with pick up on Oct. 17 from noon to 1 p.m. The October meal is a half Greek lemon roasted chicken, rice pilaf, greek salad, and a roll. ■The Crisis Center of Central New Hampshire (CCCNH) is proud to announce the seventh annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event Wednesday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m at the State House arches. Walk a Mile in Her Shoes asks men to walk one mile in women’s high-heeled shoes. You don’t have to wear high-heels, but it’s part of the fun, and it gets the community to talk about domestic and sexual violence. Everyone is invited and welcome to raise awareness about these critical issues. Join as an individual, join a team, or start your own team. ■The Business Excellence Awards will happen at the Grappone Conference Center Wednesday at 1 p.m. There are nine different categories that honor individuals from New Hampshire-based businesses with less than 100 employees and those with more than 100 employees. ■Street Closures for this week begin with the Annual Walk A Mile In Her Shoes Event on Wednesday from 2 to 7 p.m. at Main Street from Centre to Pleasant Street, Capitol Street at Evans Lane, and Warren Street at the entrance to the School Street and Durgin Block Parking Garage. Then on Saturday for the Concord Farmers Market streets will close from 6 a.m.to 1 p.m. at Capitol Street, from Green Street to North State Street.

■William Ögmundson, a classically-trained pianist and award-winning composer, will perform his popular “Americana” concert with works from Gottschalk, Sousa, Joplin, and Gershwin. Hear him on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Concord City Auditorium, 2 Prince St. Thanks to the Walker Lecture Series.
