Halloween displays

■The Franklin Gear Makerspace has launched the 2021 Greater Franklin Halloween Display Contest. Visit franklingearnh.com for details and to enter. The contest is open to outdoor displays from Franklin, Andover, Boscawen, Hill, Northfield, Salisbury, Sanbornton, and Tilton. You have until Oct. 25 at 9 p.m. to enter. ■Franklin VNA will be at the Twin Rivers Intergenerational Program Center Oct. 12 from 10 to 11 a.m. for Advanced Directive information, 11 a.m. to noon for the Foot Clinic. Call 934-3454 for an appointment for the foot clinic.

■The Paul Smith PTA will be having a meeting on Oct. 13 at 6 p.m. in the school library. All are welcome.

■The Twin Rivers Intergenerational Program Center offers regular weekly and monthly activities: line dancing, chair exercises, Keep Movin’ exercises, lunches, cribbage group, to name a few, as well as many clinics provided by the VNA. ■Bone Builders, is held every Wednesday and Friday, 9 to 10 a.m., at Hope Community Chapel,, aimed at those 55 and older, but open to men and women of all ages and all levels of physical ability. ■The Taylor Community and the American Red Cross are hosting an upcoming blood drive at 227 Ledges Drive, Laconia on Oct. 15 from 2 to 7 p.m. Visit redcrossblood.org to book your appointment.

■The Harvest Luncheon is Oct.13 and prepared by Nancy’s cooking class: beef stew, roll and a seasonal dessert. Harvest themed trivia to follow lunch. Arrive for the class at 10 a.m., if interested in cooking with Nancy, and lunch will be at the usual 11:30 a.m.

■The Franklin Bread & Roses Kitchen has reopened for meals on Mondays and Thursdays at the Unitarian University Church. Doors open at 4 p.m. and meals are served at 5 p.m.

■Karma Korner, the in-school (free) store for students needs school supplies, underwear, detergent pods for the laundry. Later in the season they will be collecting winter outerwear, so keep that in mind as you go through your closets. At this time, the Korner cannot accept any clothing.
