■Rocky Rest Stables of Towle Mason Road is having a grand opening on Oct. 17 at 9 a.m. on their newly constructed boarding stable, offering riding and driving lessons. ■The Chichester Library and the New Hampshire Humanities presents “The Mystery on the Isles of Shoals,” will be presented at Chichester Town Hall on Oct. 14 at 7 p.m., a closed case on the 1873 Smuttynose Ax Murderer Louis Wagner. Presented by J. Dennis Robinson, a popular historian and lecturer, will explain the process how Wagner was found guilty and the execution even though Wagner claimed his innocence to the end and the fiction surrounding this murder. Masks required and social distancing will be followed.

■Mrs. Bea Douglas, a staff member at Chichester Central, was nominated for the 2022 New Hampshire Teacher of the Year Award Recognition. She is among 22 nominations and is featured on the New Hampshire Department of Education webpage.
■The Chichester School Board is looking to fill three to five vacancies on the volunteer school budget advisory group. Members attend the school board meetings from October to March to hear details as the budget develops.
