Merrimack Valley is set to induct its newest members to its hall of fame this weekend.
The 2021 class consists of Mark Fontaine (‘72), Kim Kenney (Cheney, ‘84) and Scott Drapeau (‘91).
Fontaine was a three sport athlete for the Pride where he reveled in baseball, basketball and soccer. Some of his accolades include Concord’s area athlete of the year in 1972 and All New England First-Team in 1976 as a member of the UMass baseball team.
Kenney, who currently is the junior varsity field hockey coach at MV, has had bountiful success in her time at MV. The long-time varsity field hockey coach, Kenney posted a career record of 201-151-16 and one state championship in four appearances over the course of 23 years.
Drapeau is the most recent to leave MV but he left quite a legacy. A former basketball star, he scored over 2000 points and snagged over 1000 rebounds in his time for the Pride. He led MV to state titles in 1989 and 1990, and an appearance in 1991. Drapeau also had a successful stint at the University of New Hampshire from 1993-95 where he scored over 1200 points.
The induction ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, October 16 at 1:45 p.m. at MV Athletic Stadium.
