At Thanksgiving and every day, The Friends of The Audi give thanks to all our patrons, supporters and friends for their steadfast support of our historic auditorium. It was a long 18 months, but we are once again welcoming guests to the Audi and we think it’s never looked better.
We are grateful for our unique partnership with the City of Concord, especially with the public properties staff, who are celebrated every day as the 2021 “Friend of the Year.” While the Audi was closed during the pandemic, their efforts and talents transformed the darkened 1904 house into a jewel, crimson and golden, shining and scrubbed, and ready for the new curtain to open. With the assistance of the Parks & Rec staff, the Audi’s financial health was assured, as rental revenue loss was balanced by lower operating costs. Thanks to our city-citizen partnership, the Audi is the one bright spot in the year’s catalog of New Hampshire stages.
We thank all the Friends of the Audi – presenters, performers, audience, supporters, and volunteers. Now they are returning to Prince Street en masse, masked and caring for each other after a year “waiting in the wings.” (Yes, the cookie bakers are waiting to return too!)
The City Auditorium thrives because the community values its home-grown arts and entertainment, affordable and accessible to all. We hope to see you at the Audi soon.
