Coe-Brown Northwood Academy’s Aidan Cox added an exclamation point to an impressive 2021 campaign with a victory at the Nike Cross Regionals Northeast race over the weekend at Bowdoin Park in Wappingers Falls, N.Y.

Cox – the New Hampshire Division II champion, Meet of Champions victor and All-New England finisher – won the 5K in 15:43.6, the third-fastest time in the history of the race, headlining a field of the top high school runners from New England, New York and New Jersey.

Cox is the first boy from the Granite State to win the event.

The Coe-Brown boys’ cross country team, running as a club (‘The Black Bears’), finished third. Nationally ranked Bishop Hendricken, R.I., was the winning team, while CBA-Lincroft from New Jersey took second. The Black Bears defeated U-32 High School from Vermont, which claimed the New England title just three weeks ago.

Fellow Coe-Brown senior Lars Hogne also earned All-Northeast honors, finishing 12th in 16:53.

The Granite State was also well-represented on the girls’ side, with Souhegan’s Chloe Trudel finishing fourth in 19:26   and Bow’s Maya Brochu finishing 25th in 20:20.
