Boys’ Basketball

Pembroke 63, Bow 42

Key players: Pembroke – Mike Pitman (20 points), Mike Strazzeri (14 points), Joe Fitzgerald (11 points), Alex Francoeur (11 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists);Bow – Owen Petretta (17 points), Alex Boisvert, Myles Rheinhardt

Highlights: The Falcons held Pitman to five points in the first half, but the Spartans adjusted well, giving looks to other shooters who took advantage of the extra opportunities.

Coaches’ quotes: “This game was a lot tougher than the score would indicate. Bow has size and plays physical. They never quit playing despite the score. Also, we had four guys with double figures and Alex Francoeur played a huge game. Pitman figured it out in the second half, creating shots and scoring 15 of his 20 in the second half.” – Pembroke assistant Mike Donnell

“Defending a really well-coached and good team for 32 minutes is hard to do. Feel like we battled in first half and start of second, but couldn’t establish a rhythm, and started to try to play up tempo, and we are not built for that type of game. Hopefully, the new year will bring fresh legs and clear minds for a run.” – Bow’s Scott Drapeau
