The opponents of teaching critical race theory state that they don’t want the children to feel bad or ashamed about our history of our treatment of African Americans and Indigenous people or the treatment of immigrants to this country in the early part of the century.

It makes me think about the idea that we don’t keep score in some children’s sporting events because we do not want them to feel badly they lost. I one saw a cartoon with a young child bursting through the door with an enormous trophy yelling, “we lost!”
