■Recreational basketball will be offered for young children and their parents with an introduction to basic basketball skills as well as a variety of fun games at the Bessie Rowell Community Center. Children must be accompanied by an adult, and the adult must stay through the entire class. When: Saturdays Jan. 8 through Feb. 12, 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. (three to four-year-olds) and 10:15 to 11 a.m. (five to six-year-olds). There is a fee, $25 for residents and $30 for non-residents.
