■A Town Meeting is scheduled for March 8 that includes voting on changes to town policies. The Planning Board has proposed several new amendments to the Boscawen Zoning Ordinance as well as updating pages and articles. ■Boscawen needs you! Filing for open town offices begins Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. and ends on Jan. 28 at 5:30 p.m. Candidates are needed for Cemetery Trustee, Library Trustee, Moderator, Selectperson, Supervisor of the Checklist, Treasurer, and Trustee of the Trust Funds.

■Elkins Café. We should all make time for interaction and enrichment in our lovely community. It’s all the more important to do this as we get older. ■The Salisbury Free Library trustees seek a friendly, outgoing individual for the position of Library Director. The director is responsible for all facets of library operation and developing and managing a small staff. The director reports to and works closely with a Trustee Board, which meets monthly. At least 3 years professional experience in a public library, with supervisory experience preferred bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred. MLS students are highly encouraged to apply. Needs to have familiarity with tech support, collection development and Microsoft Windows. ■The Friends of Forgotten Children food pantry has opened the building to its clients. The pantry is open on Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. (last client to check in is at 11), closed for lunch 11:30 a.m. to noon and reopens for clients from noon to 7 p.m. First time clients should bring proof of residency for each member of the household (this can be your lease, a utility bill, food stamp or other agency approvals, doctor bills). ■The Town Clerk is now open to the public for indoor in-person service. Masks are recommended for all those not fully vaccinated and please continue to observe social distancing. Please be sure to bring your driver’s license as the clerk is required to see it for all motor vehicle transactions. Vehicle and Dog Renewals may still be completed online. Vehicle Renewal Registration information was mailed to those who need to renew in January. Please follow the directions in the letter enclosed, and the town clerk will mail your new stickers and registration to you. This only covers vehicles previously registered in Salisbury, not new vehicles or vehicles of new residents. Online vehicle registration and renewals for dog licensing are now live on the town’s website. Also, the 2022 Dog Tags are in so please feel free to license your pooch a few months early. It is $6.50 for spayed/neutered pooches, $9 for intact pooches. Seniors, those 65 and up, get one discounted pooch for $2.
■The Library is now open to the public. Open hours are: Monday (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.), Tuesday (1 to 7 p.m.), Thursday (1 to 7 p.m.), and Saturday (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.). Pickup and delivery may not be available during story time or trustee meetings due to staffing, but can arrange a contactless pickup.. Please see their website for updated information. We are asking that everyone please wear a mask inside the library including those vaccinated and can provide masks if needed, but not including children under five or those with medical conditions. There is a time limit of 1 hour per visit. Please do not visit if you are sick. If you have a cough, cold, sore throat, muscle aches, or fever, please do not enter the building. Story time has been put on hold until spring 2022, please stay tuned to the library’s webpage for updates. ■COVID vaccinations will be available at the Webster Elementary School on Jan. 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The first and second vaccination shots will be available, as well as the booster. If you have had one or more of the series of shots, please bring your vaccination card so that the proper shot can be administered.
■The Webster Town Clerk is excited to offer residents an easy and convenient method to view and pay their motor vehicle registration(s) and dog license(s) online. This is a fee-based service with fees going to Invoice Cloud, the provider of the online service. The Town does not receive the additional fees. A ¢95 service fee will apply to all e-check transactions and a 2.95% service fee, with a minimum of $1.95, will apply to all credit card transactions. There is a Dog License and MV Renewal button on the Town’s Homepage, www.webster-nh.gov. Motor vehicle registrations expiring in January or February 2022 are available for renewal online. Only dogs registered in Webster in 2021 can renew online. If your dog’s rabies vaccine is not current, you will not be allowed to renew online until this has been updated. Please keep in mind, this offering is new to us at the Town Clerk’s office, too. We welcome feedback, good and bad, so we can master this new service provided to residents.
■The filing period for town elections begins on Jan. 19 and ends on Jan. 26. If you are interested in filing for one of the open seats, please see the Town Clerk during regular hours. The vacant positions include: Moderator (two years), Selectman (three years), Supervisor of the Checklist (six years), Treasurer (one year), Trustee of Trust Funds (three years), Cemetery Trustee (three years), and Library Trustee (three years).
■The Pillsbury Lake Village District will hold a public hearing in person and via Zoom, on Jan. 20 at 6:30 p.m. in the PLVD Clubhouse. The hearing will be held to discuss the adoption of a resolution and amendment to the Municipal Water Ordinance to permit the creation of an assessment for the purpose of securing the funds necessary to underwrite the borrowing associated with the Concord Drive Water Main Project, and associated improvements on Penacook Circle, and the Peninsula’/Franklin Pierce systems.
