Concord firefighters responded to an apartment fire early Tuesday morning that left two people hospitalized with injuries.
Just before 2:30 a.m., a fire was reported in a third-story apartment at Morning Star Condominiums on Loudon Road. Concord ambulances brought two people to Concord Hospital with injuries from burns and smoke inhalation. One patient later had to be transported by air to another hospital.
Fire Chief Sean Brown said the fire was mostly extinguished by the time firefighters arrived. Damage only occurred in the apartment where the fire began.
“Everything appears accidental,” Brown said. “We’ve been unable to interview the occupants as they are both hospitalized, but all indications point towards an accidental, cooking-related [fire].”
